What is First Book? – First Book provides access to new books for children in need. First Book has distributed more than 135 million books and educational resources to programs and schools serving children from low-income families throughout the United States and Canada. First Book is transforming the lives of children in need and elevating the quality of education by making new, high-quality books available on an ongoing basis. No matter how formats and technologies change, children from low-income families will still need access to rich and varied content. First Book is helping guide the publishing industry as it evolves so that all children can benefit from new technologies and flourish as readers.
The Margolius Firm, LLC “adopted a class” at a local Washington DC elementary school. For 2 years, the Margolius office provided new books to “its class” which created a personal take home library for each child and the office participated during the school year with those children in a hands on literacy program.
The members of the firm participate individually and collectively in community events such as Mitzvah (Good Deeds) Day, Jewish Foundation for Group Homes events, support of local schools, community centers and much much more.
